  • The team is investigating a range of possible solutions, and depending on the final outcome, the project may include the world’s longest main span for a suspension bridge.

Sula Fjord stretches between Hareid and Sula and has a width of between 3.5 and 4.0 kilometres, with depths of up to 450 metres at the planned bridge locations. The area is exposed to strong winds and high waves.

Halsa Fjord is a fjord arm in the Nordmøre district, with a width of two kilometres and a depth of 500 metres at the future bridge site. For this location, the advisory team will explore a concept for a two-span suspension bridge with a floating foundation positioned in the middle of the fjord and anchored to the seabed.
